IKADPAUDI and Pusdiklat PKU Muhammadiyah Partner to Promote the Fulfillment of Children's Rights

JAKARTA — The Indonesian Association of Early Childhood Education Doctors (IKADPAUDI) and Pusdiklat PKU Muhammadiyah strengthened their synergy in supporting the fulfillment of children's rights and optimizing early childhood growth and development through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing took place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Pusdiklat PKU Muhammadiyah Building in Cempaka Putih, Jakarta. This partnership serves as a foundation for both institutions to develop various human resource capacity-building programs related to early childhood growth, development, health, and education. Preparing Cadres for Early Detection of Child Growth One of the programs planned under this partnership is the organization of joint training in the form of a Training of Trainers (ToT). This program is designed to prepare community cadres with the ability to conduct child growth assessments using anthropometric standards. The ability to perform accurate assessments is expected to help the community identify potential growth issues in children at an early stage. The assessment results can serve as a basis for families to conduct further monitoring or obtain professional referrals if indications of stunting, malnutrition, severe malnutrition, or obesity are found. IKADPAUDI General Chairperson Dr. Sukiman, M.Pd. explained that this memorandum of understanding serves as an umbrella for the implementation of technical cooperation to prepare professionals in the field of child growth and development assessment. Collaboration will be developed through training, seminars, and various other competency-building activities that support the optimization of early childhood growth and development. Followed by Child Development Assessment Following capacity-building in growth assessment, the partnership is planned to expand into aspects of child development. The focus includes enhancing the ability to conduct early detection of potential developmental deviations so that children can receive appropriate treatment and referrals as early as possible. In practice, the assessment serves as an initial identification stage. If conditions requiring further handling are found, the child is then directed to facilities or professionals with competencies matching their needs. This approach places the best interests of the child as the primary consideration while strengthening efforts to fulfill children's rights to health, growth and development, education, and protection. Impact-Oriented Partnership IKADPAUDI Chairperson I Dr. Yessy Gusman, S.H., M.B.A. emphasized the importance of ensuring that the memorandum of understanding does not remain merely a ceremonial activity.
